Updated COVID-19 Information
At Montville Oral Surgery Associates we are pleased to resume providing safe and effective full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery in our brand new state of the art surgical facility. Our highly qualified team has implemented advanced measures to reduce the risk and spread of the coronavirus. These extra layers of protection have been instrumental in keeping our patients, team members and surgeons safe and comfortable at all times. Any one of these additional methods of sterilization, cleanliness and disinfection would address concerns with coronavirus in the office; however, we are choosing to use redundancy in employing these additional measures which provide extra precautions for you and our staff. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we continue to implement these new measures.
What to expect when you visit Montville Oral Surgery:
Electronic Medical Records: We are proud to be a paperless medical facility and we ask for our patients to complete new patient forms online before arriving at our office. New patient registration forms can be found on our website. By completing forms online, you can reduce the amount of time spent in our waiting area and eliminate touching extraneous pieces of paper, writing pens and clipboards.
Healthy patients and staff: Upon arrival and before check-in, temperatures will be taken from the patient and the patient’s guest. Additionally, we will ask for both to complete a questionnaire and disclosure related to potential contact with a COVID-19 patient, travel history and health symptoms. Our doctors and employees are screened daily with multiple temperature checks.
Preventative measures: Masks are worn by all employees, including administrative and surgical team members. We have implemented enhanced surface cleaning routines. Our reception areas are clean and frequently disinfected throughout the day with high quality disinfecting products. Hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap is readily available for use by patients and team members.
Social Distancing: Following check-in via phone, patients are encouraged to wait outside in their cars until it is time to see the surgeon. Limited guests will be in the reception area as we will expedite your placement into one of our patient care suites once in the facility.
Antimicrobial Oral Rinsing: Prior to being treated you may be provided an antimicrobial oral rinse to potentially aid in disinfecting the oral cavity. This rinse may be a hydrogen peroxide or chlorohexidine based.
Because of the nature of our practice, oral surgery offices are inherently clean, sanitized and disinfected. We are required to adhere to strict guidelines set forth by the CDC, OSHA, ADA, and AAOMS for infection control. In response to the recent outbreak of coronavirus, we have implemented more rigorous surface cleaning measures and adopted additional layers of infection control which address clean air, sterilization and personal protective equipment:
Central Air Purification System: In our brand new state of the art facility we have installed high quality central air purification system with upgraded MERV13 filters to protect the overall air quality in the facility.
Air purifiers using HEPA filter: In each room (reception, patient care suites and administrative offices), patients will see new air purifiers. To facilitate clean air, each area uses Air purifiers with HEPA filter to kill viruses, bacteria and other airborne pathogens. These new units run continuously throughout the day to purify the air within a room. More than 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens are effectively eliminated from the air and unable to infect our patients.
Brand new sterilization equipment: Considering that our facility is brand new, our ultrasonic, autoclave and sterilization units are of the highest caliber with the latest technology to ensure high quality disinfection, cleanliness and sterilization of all our surgical instrumentation.
Enhanced Personal Protective Equipment: At Montville Oral Surgery we have been fortunate to secure advanced level PPE early on which has been instrumental in keeping our patients and staff as safe as possible while providing the highest caliber of care.
If you have any concerns about your possible exposure to coronavirus or think that you exhibit any of the symptoms associated with the virus, please call our office to discuss your individual situation with one of our surgeons. If necessary, we will reschedule your appointment. Please ask us questions! We are happy to address any of your concerns about your safety as it relates to coronavirus, or anything else at all. We strive to make your visit to Montville Oral Associates a warm, pleasant, stress-free and safe experience.
