A tooth —YES even a healthy one — may need to be extracted for several reasons. Decay, injury, or other dental conditions can become so severe that it cannot be saved, and/or the health of the surrounding teeth require its removal. Some healthy teeth require extraction if there is not enough room in the mouth, or one or more teeth may be extracted to prepare for additional orthodontic or oral surgery treatments.
A tooth extraction is the most common procedure at Montville Oral Surgery Associates. Most of the time, local anesthesia is all that is needed during the procedure to keep the patient calm and comfortable. Your personal treatment plan, including your options for anesthesia, will be discussed during your consultation appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon.
